Video Inspection Locating
Video Inspection Locating
Along with Trenchless technology, another modern technological advancement, video sewer inspection, has completely changed the approach to sewer line maintenance and rehabilitation.
While this technology has been around for several years, it is only in the last few years that its use has become commonplace. Just as video and audio hardware and software have improved dramatically, so also has pipe inspection equipment. High resolution, self-leveling, color digital video recorders are becoming the standard for sewer line inspections.
Even more recently, these videos are able to be viewed online. At Apex Underground, we upload the videos to a private YouTube channel and send our customers the link to their video. This allows several people to view it at once, to download a copy for themselves if desired, and to handle larger file sizes than can be sent by email. Simple passwords are sent along with the link so that only intended recipients can view the videos.
Line locating is now standard procedure prior to excavating, which eliminates the guesswork and saves time, money, and unnecessary property damage. We continue to look for new ways to use technology to better communicate, to improve the customer experience, and to streamline our operations – in the office and in the field.
